Synchronicity Stories

I picked out a card for Ryan a friend of mine. It had a sun on it with a quote by Helen Keller that said, "Keep your face to the sun and you cannot see the shadow". Before I got it sent off to her I received a card from her that had a sun on it with the same quote on it. She lives in WA. I live in NE. Jennifer Shelton

MY DIVORCE WAS FINAL SEPTMEBER 11, 1998. A FRIEND OF MINE I'VE KNOWN SINCE I WAS SIX YEARS OLD WHOSE BIRTHDAY IS THE EXACT SAME DAY AS MINE GOT MARRIED FOR THE SECOND TIME ON SEPTMEBER 11, 1999!

Mine's kinda morbid but...
I was on vacation in CA, and taking a nap in a hammock when I had a vivid dream consisting only of bright orange words flashing against a black background, reading; "Last chance, last chance, Danny-boy's last dance." When I woke, I immediately called my friend Danny's house, only to find that he was in the hospital, recovering from a nasty car accident. He was always a reckless driver and I was always getting on him for "dancing with danger." At seventeen, he'd already been involved in several accidents. Less than a year later he had his next accident, and his last.

Double synchro!

I just stumbled onto this page today and as soon as I saw the post box, typed in the first event that came to mind about My late friend Danny Adams. Only after I finished posting, did I scroll down to find the name of the person who created this page; Dani Adams. Freaky.

I live in Fort Collins, Colorado and when the nmew US West Telephone Directory (December of 1999)came out the listing for Clinton Blauer Jr. (mine) had the following information. 2207 Charolais Dr. 224-3758. The name which followed mine in the directory was for one Patsy Blauvelt who lived at 2207 W. Oak, 472-5734. Not only does Patsy have the same house number as I do (2207), when you reverse the last four digits of her telephone number your get the numbers 4375 which coincides with four consecutive numbers in my telephone number 224-3758. Coincidences involve seeing patterns in names and numbers. Furthermore I have two additional acquaintances who have the same house nummber (2207) as mine. If you want to see what the odds might be of two consecutive names in the telephone book having the same house number or identiacal four digits in their telephone nuumber try to find such repetitions in your own telephone book and let me know if you find any. How many friends to you have that have the same house number as you?

I don't know if this qualifies as synchronicity as much as being tuned into your soul mate but here's my story. When my husband was ill with cancer, I stayed by his side and could not leave. My son and his closest friend both flew down to be with us within a day of each other. Finally, my friend got me to take a ride with her to the store and then have a bit to eat. I called when we first got to the restaurant and we had a glass of wine while waiting for our table. When the hostess showed us to our table, I got this feeling that I needed to call home. Jane said, "But you only called 10 minutes ago. I'm sure he's fine." But it was as if someone was tugging at me so, naturally, I did. I knew as soon as Scott answered the phone that my husband had passed away. It had been only a matter of minutes, Scott said, and my calling at that moment was practically psychic. I felt then and as I still do today that as Joe passed from this world into the next, he was contacting me; it was his time and he could not leave while I was with him because I was not ready to lose him so he left when he felt it was time. He knew I had the support of loved ones and that I would be ok in the end. I felt it in my very being. The moment I called home was the moment he died. From that day on, I became confident that there truly are meaningful coincidences and we know more than we think we know, particularly when we are truly connected to another human being.

Last saturday (April 15th 2000)I had an appointment with a lady at the Psychosynthesis centre. Before I left, I had a phonecall from a friend who told me that he needed to talk to someone because his 'soon to be ex wife' was moving out. We talked for a while about how much he dislikes moving until I had to leave for my appointment - he said he would ring me later.
I arrived for my appointment...the house where the lady operates from is being renovated...she is due to move into the house any day - she tells me she dislikes moving.
After returning home, my brother phones from interstate....with news that he has been able to arrange to use his frequent flier points for my son's upcoming visit with his Grandmother. When I thank him for allowing my son to use his points he says he has gotten to the point where he has flown too often - that he hates moving all the time and that is why he hasn't used the points himself.
My girlfriend phones and says that her sister (who is staying with her temporarily) is out looking for a house of her own to move into.
Strange coincidences or not? I have moved house some 42 times in my life...I do moving house very well.
What meaning can be given to all these contacts? Only that I am renting and the lease is up for renewal...and I too am considering moving one more time. Are these signs that I should move, or that I should not???? I have no answer.....yet! I await further synchronicities.

Story of synchronicity 2.
I woke from sleep with a strong urge to phone my brother (Alan) and tell him to contact Paul (a friend of mine) re work. At the time Alan (a computer programmer) was between jobs and Paul (also a computer programmer) had mentioned that his company was having trouble finding staff. I managed to contact my brother who said that it was lucky I hadn't tried to phone earlier - he had just come in from completing a fun run. I explained that I had a possible work contact for him...when I gave him Paul's surname, he made a comment about my friend being of German descent...just like our family. He asked how long I had known him. I said 16 years, that Paul reminded me in many ways of Alan...both lived in Perth, both trained in computer programming at the same university around the same time, both have similar personalities, both recently separated from their wives and both had been regular visitors to my home when I lived in Western Australia...but the had never met. My brother took down the contact details and then said he couldn't talk for much longer - our father had just arrived for a birthday lunch.
I hung up and decided I had better let Paul know that I had given my brother his contact details.
When I phoned Paul, he said that I was lucky to catch him - he had just come in from a fun run!!!!.I gave him my brothers name - Paul said he had known me for 16 years and this was the first time that he realized that I had German ancestry!!!! I explained about how similar he and Alan were...how similar their history and lives and we pondered on the meaning of it all for a while. Then Paul said he couldn't chat for long...his Father was due any minute for a birthday lunch!!!!
I have no explaination for the similarity in the flow of the two conversations.....but you can bet that I made certain that I phoned my father that night to say "happy birthday"!

Unexplainable coincidences occur constantly, and is the nature of the universe. It is just that people who go through their lives with their eyes closed never notice them. My whole life has been coincidental and it would seem inane for me to post a story here. The fact that I exist and am visiting this web page is in itself a coincidence. The fact that you are reading my story connects us in a way which is inexplicable and significant beyond words. All things are connected, otherwise everything would fall apart.

My first is a simple synchronistic event - I was driving home from work, I had stopped at a junction waiting to turn left, the radio was on & an advert was being aired for shampoo, the central character's name was Jules, as I turned left I looked at the car ahead of me & just as the woman's voice in the advert was saying 'Oh Jules!' I read that same name on the back of the car ahead ( it was not part of the manufacturer's labelling, the owner had stuck it on).

My second is an 'It's a small world' synchronicity. Several years ago my brother had just left college & moved to Gloucester (UK) - he came home (to S.Wales) to visit one weekend & brought a lady friend with him. When we were introduced & she heard my married surname, she told us that it was a name she recognised, because she had worked, as a teenager for a couple who ran her local newsagents in Street, Somerset, with the same surname. It turned out that she worked for my husband' s brother & his wife.

This morning came, and the sun shined like a lion on my other-earthly face. "For real, for real!" I sang as the barge made it's way down the foggy river. "Did you think I would leave you here this way?" I heard a faint and kindly voice say. But I could only complain to the whisperising winds - the unresonable force of natures selective disposition - for my recompense. This might come to you askew and untrue, but I tell you, this morning came.
This morning came.

When I was in high school, I gave my class ring to my high school sweetheart who later became my husband. He took the ring off his finger and lost it. Years later, after we were married and no longer living with my parents, a woman called my parent's house, said that she had my high school ring and would like to return it. Her boyfriend had found the ring in the restroom at Sears where my boyfriend was working as an auto mechanic. Her boyfriend had given her the ring. She and her boyfriend had broken up and she wanted to return the ring to its rightful owner.

This happened to me when I was seven years old (I'm 22 now), and my parents still talk about it. My mother had died two years before, my Dad had just remarried, and we'd moved to a new house. I was a little shaken by all this, and for a long time was having nightmares. Then one night I dreamt that I was in a dark house with some other kids, and a white koala with wings was leading us to safety. At the very end, he said "Everything's going to be alright." I woke up with a smile and told my stepmom about it, and we went to go tell my Dad. He looked at us like he'd seen a ghost. As it happened, he'd just read in the newspaper that a baby albino koala had died at the LA Zoo the night before. I don't know whether it was a coincidence or not; what I do know is that I didn't have any more nightmares after that.

Hi...how coincidental I visit here today!
I have so many stories, it would be difficult to select one this
moment...so I will generalize.
Through an incredible set of circumstances I met a lady
who I have come to feel is my closest soulmate...and SHE
was the one who sent me down a path pursuing Jungian
synchronicity and coincidence. I have come to see
it as James Redfield conveyed in a seminar I attended on
his book "The Celestine Vision"...he said-
"Pay attention to the synchronicities in your life as
they are a window to a deeper reality..."
Since I have been paying attention, my life has
been completely transformed...no longer do I feel
to be an "isolated ego standing on a ball of
rock spinning around a mediocre star..."

I was driving back home after spending the night at a friends on a late Sunday morning. At this particular period of my life I had been giving a great deal of thought to "chance" meetings that had some higher purpose. As I neared home I suddenly got the urge to turn into the parking lot of a local cafateria. I started to ignore it and drive on home but as I approached the point of no return for turning in the cafateria lot I sprun the steering wheel, resigned to follow this urge. Upon exiting the car and approaching the front door of the cafateria I noticed that I had arrived JUST as they had finished serving breakfast and a half hour or so before they served lunch. Feeling stupid I turn to go back to my car. As I did, a short, older man, approached me. He said that he was embarassed to ask, but could I let him have enough to eat on, that he was currently not doing well financially. Something about this man felt very different. Though his clothes showed signs of being worn many times the was a very comfortable neatness to them, and he was a very well groomed and handsome man. Though he seemed to have a shyness about him, and maybe a slight sadness, the was something very stong, knowing, and warm about him. I gladly gave him some money for lunch and went on my way. In my life I have been approached by many people for money, and one gets to know the feel of those that do this of a matter of course. I have never met a man who LESS met that profile than this man. Sometimes I wished that I had stopped and taken the time to speak with him, but maybe, that wasn't the purpose. Maybe he was there for me ... to help me understand that listening to the little things will lead me to place I need to be. I have a feeling it was "I" that got the exchange on that day.

1/22/01 -- Hi! My name is Cynthia Sue Larson, and I'm the author of the forthcoming book, "Reality Shifts: When Consciousness Changes the Physical World", with preface by physicist Fred Alan Wolf. I have experienced thousands of synchronicities, which sometimes surpass the usual definition of the word synchronicity -- so I use the term "reality shift" to describe the times when people and things have mysteriously appeared, disappeared, transformed and transported... and the times that time has not behaved in predictable linear fashion. In addition to the kinds of reality shift we've all experienced, such as noticing that my keys seem to move around the house by themselves (especially when I'm in a big hurry), and the way that socks sometimes don't come out of the laundry together... I've also seen a sun dial statue appear in front of me and my two friends in a place it had never been before. I've seen a woman vanish as I was looking at her, I've seen keys appear in mid-air, I've seen time slow to a stop. I've got so many stories to share that I have a web site and ezine dedicated to exploring the ways our thoughts and feelings change the physical universe at realityshifters.com; I hope you'll come by to check it out!

Wishing you all the best that life and love have to offer,
Cynthia

In working with The Artist's Way, I stumbled on to Synchronicity and have had many experiences since the first one I'm about to relate to you. One of the things that the book asks you to do is to trust that there is a power (God/ Creative Spirit/ Chi) that is there for you to rely on and is working to help you realize your fullest potential. One day at a Laundromat, feeling cheeky and testing out these new ideas, I said "O.K., Creative Spirit, I'm a quarter short for this last load and if you're really there then prove it and send me a quarter." I checked through my pockets and laundry bag, but no luck. So I broke a dollar bill and started the dryer. When the dryer bell went off I opened the door and what should come bouncing out but a quarter. This playful trump, from the Creative Spirit, excited me to the possibilty that maybe I wasn't alone, so I opened myself up to the idea of Synchronicity whole-heartedly and asked for assistance in getting out of the rut I was in. I had recently bought a book on Mythology that I had LOVED as a child, which was a result of another Artist's Way project, and removing it from it's plastic wrapper it opened to the myth of Sysiphus. The following day while waiting on line at the Post Office the guy ahead of me had The Myth of Sysiphus by Albert Camus, tucked into his back pocket facing me, and a light bulb went off. When I got home I dissected the lessons of the story and they all applied to my life and helped to unstick me from my pain and unhappiness. Two years later, I was passionately explaining to a skeptical friend how The Artist's Way changed my life and ideas on Spirituality and trying to open his eyes (we were eating Chinese) when fortune cookies came. I opened my cookie and it read "you are not wrong, the universe guides your life." My friend was agog, but I was used to these experiences by then. You can call occurences like these omens or intuitions or angels, but if you open to them they will guide you on the path. 2/28/01

I work in a library and was typing in the last four numbers of a bar code. At EXACTLY the same time, an AV technician was reciting his phone number. Believe it or not, I typed the same last four numbers as his phone number at the same time. At first I thought that I had typed in the numbers BECAUSE I heard them being recited, you know how that happnes. Then I double-checked the numbers and they matched. Weird, huh? The odds have to be one in a trillion or more, right?

One more :-)

This may be more of a premonition experience, but I thought I would share it here. I lived in Santa Barbara, which is near where wild California Condors were still free (in the late 1980s). One night I had a very simple dream about a California Condor flying free in the sky above me. The next day I watched the news and was surprised to see that that day they had captured the last wild California Condor and put her into the zoo. There was absolutely no way that I would have heard about this capture ahead of time, since they didn't publicize it to the media. They wanted to capture the last bird without a big fanfare. I sort of figure that the California Condor is my spirit animal. Strange that my initials are CC, also. What I will do after they go extinct, who knows. At least there are some back in the wild again now.

I had just finished reading my first online article about sinchronicity while I was at work. Right before i got back on the phone my manager came up to me and out of nowhere he held up a roll of paper towels and asked how many colds I think it would last for. I told him what i thought and then proceeded to take my first call. When I answered the phone the very first thing the guy said was "You'll have to bare with me, I have a nasty cold... sniff, sniff".

Right after I got done typing the last story I took another call since I work in a call center. At the beginning of the call I was thinking no coencidences have happened so far today, which is kind of unussual as of late. IMEDIATLY after that thought entered my head I burped and at the EXACT same time the guy on the phone burped and said excuse me...

One More. I was driving around and thinking to my self, I wonder if Jesus was a good looking guy, being he is the son of god and all he must have been good looking. Just a random thought so I forgot about it quickly. That night a buddy and I went over to a friends house. Out of nowhere my buddy pointed at the wall, pointed at a picture of Jesus and said "Hey look at that good looking guy over there"...

I've not visited in a while and thought I'd share two more recent episodes.

My parents were visiting last summer and we were travelling with a couple of my friends on the 405 freeway when I looked up to notice a billboard advertising the California lottery, boasting the day's possible winnings with the phrase, "Care for a mint?" Just then my mother turned around to the back seat to offer a roll of certs she'd pulled from her purse to my friends, and then I spied the license plate on the back of the limo in front of us, which read of all things, MINT.

My second one involves a dream I had the night before the market swooped quite noticeably down a few weeks ago. A coworker was angry and shouting something about rocks, I thought, and the number 300,000. I told her about the dream the next day and she looked at me suspiciously and said she's jsut recently purchased 300,000 dollars worth of Rochdale, a mutual fund, I believe. We waved it off. Two days ago she sidled up to me by the water cooler. "300,000 is not just 300," she said dryly. This is not the first precognitive dream I've had.
